Protect Our Countryside – Say NO to Industrial Development on Green Belt Land
Two industrial solar sites equating to nearly 200 acres are being proposed on our local greenbelt land, threatening our beautiful rural landscape and local wildlife. If we don’t act now, this project could permanently change our community.
-
Massive Visual Impact – The council has already acknowledged that this solar site will have a significant negative effect on the landscape. The developer’s proposed “screening” won’t be effective for years—leaving us with an industrial eyesore in our countryside.
-
Farmland, Not Brownfield – Productive agricultural land is being sacrificed, despite the availability of brownfield sites elsewhere. Why is the Green Belt being used when there are better options?
-
Sets a Dangerous Precedent – Approving this project could open the floodgates for more industrial-scale developments in our rural community.

What Can You Do?
Object to the Proposals
There is a proposal on the Erewash Borough Council Planning Portal 0125/0040. We would urge you to contact the council to object to the proposal.
The planning application will be submitted soon. We need as many objections as possible to show the council that this is unacceptable. Sign up below to receive an alert when the consultation opens!
